Sony Electronics Inc. today announced the introduction of
the VPL-PX32 Sony LCD Projector, which is
suitable for tabletop displays, ceiling installation or rear-screen
use in corporate meeting and boardrooms, classrooms and houses
of worship.
The successor to the company's popular VPL-PX31 model, the
lightweight and portable Sony VPL-PX32 LCD projector can accommodate
a display area up to 300 inches (viewable area, measured diagonally),
flexible throw distances to accommodate various room sizes,
plus an extremely versatile input panel to facilitate custom
integration.
Enhancements to Sony's newest projector include a higher
brightness of 3000 ANSI* lumens, a 200W UHP lamp, and a new
optical system incorporating 1.3-inch TFT three-panel LCD
technology with Micro Lens Array.
For enhanced detail, the high resolution XGA projector is
also equipped with an RGB Enhancer, which maximizes the image
quality of original computer generated sources. In addition,
Sony's 3D Gamma Correction video processing technology, auto-pixel
alignment and digital keystone correction - all key features
of Sony's previous PX31 model -- also enhance image display.
Another aspect that makes the Sony VPL-PX32 LCD projector
an attractive presentation system is the flexibility to accommodate
a variety of throw distances. Three optional lenses are available,
providing the ability to customize the projector to virtually
any projection environment.
"We have seen a rise in the demand for projection technology
which can be integrated easily into a variety of vertical
markets such as the classroom, the office, sports facilities
and houses of worship," said Jonathan Holmes, marketing
manager for projectors for Sony Electronics' Business Solutions
and Systems Company. "The Sony VPL-PX32 Projector like
its predecessor the VPL-PX31, is optimized for computer and
video display and can be easily integrated into a packaged
presentation system that includes such components as DVD,
VHS players and whiteboards."
The Sony projector is also equipped with a remote control
unit with keys for mouse related point-and-click control of
various functions. It also includes four times digital zoom,
which allows the presenter to focus in on a section of the
presentation for added detail. The remote control also works
as a laser pointer to direct and guide the audience through
the presentation.
Sony's projector also includes multiple interfaces to accept
a wide range of input signals, such as component and composite
video including all HDTV formats, as well as analog and digital
computer signals. It is also equipped with a USB interface
for plug-and-play connections to a variety of USB-ready devices.
The VPL-PX32's three-way speaker system provides stereo
sound to support the presentation's visual elements and heighten
the effectiveness of the presentation. The VPL-PX32 LCD Projector
runs quietly thanks to an advanced air discharge system, which
minimizes audible air disturbance.
Now available, the VPL-PX32 LCD Projector from Sony has a
suggested list price of $9,200. For more information about
