This Sony FWD-42PV1 is a EDTV ready TV. When compiling
information for this article, I decided to put a short paragraph
on what exactly EDTV is. EDTV is an abbreviation for " Enhanced
Definition Television". EDTV is different than HDTV,
in that it provides a lower picture quality than high
definition television. In order to watch EDTV you do need
a separate receiver, with this you get a much better image
quality that crt televisions, with that the sound quality goes
up thanks to Dolby digital sound. And also unlike HDTV, there
are 2 aspect ratios that you can use 16:9 (widescreen)
or 4:3 (used in analog TVs).
Now back to the FWD-42PV1 Plasma TV. This 42 inch plasma
offers a variety of features. For instance if you can't decide
on which program to watch, watch both! With the picture in
picture feature you can split the screen and watch both programs
at the same time. Sleep timer - are you on of those people
who falls asleep in front of the TV, then a sleep timer will
do you well. This is a programmable timer that closes the
Plasma TV after
a certain period of time, very useful if you ask me.
- two 14 watt speakers, that pump out virtual sound
- 852 x 480 pixel resolution
- not only can you use the FWD-42PV1 for home theater
viewing, you can also hook it up to your pc computer
- 1 billion colors, giving you amazing color reproduction
- 2 year warranty
The life span is 60,000 hours, so that works
to be many, many years on television viewing.
Want to save some money, then shop online.
Epinions has probably the cheapest prices, because they compare
prices from all over the web. The end result is you can see
prices from at least 10- 20 different online merchants. By
the way Epinions is offering the FWD-42PV1 for $1,222.00.
